Book Blog Love-a-Thon Mini Challenge #5

For the next challenge of Book Blog Love-a-Thon we are supposed to write a letter to ourselves. Either a letter to our past selves or future selves, imparting some blogging wisdom.

I decided to give my past self a little tough love speech. I started this blog a little over four years ago, inspired by the book The Alchemist which is all about chasing dreams and writing your own personal history. However when I started I was really bad at remembering to blog. When I look back, especially with such great events like today, I realize how wonderful this community can be and how I missed out not finding it sooner.

So without further ado, here is my pep talk to myself!

    1. Thanks. I feel like letter-writing is a lost art. Maybe I should bring it back! I'm glad to be a part of the community and I'm glad to meet amazing people like you!

  2. This is definitely what I would have written to my past blogging self. I've only been blogging a year, but at the beginning I was like my own little island. I never visited other blogs, never got into the community and only posted reviews. Thank god I've broken out of that!

    1. Agreed. I'm so glad I escaped that island too. Like everything else, blogging is better when you share it with others! Thanks!

  3. I have to agree that I love that you wrote this letter by hand! I really enjoyed your advice, I know my younger blogger self would have appreciated it! I'm super shy so reaching out to other bloggers has always been a challenge of mine. I'm slowly over-coming that! Thanks so much for sharing :)

  4. Love the handwritten letter! Wonderful advice! I also need to write more reviews. I tend to move onto the next book before writing mine and then I forget everything I wanted to write. Keeping a reading journal sounds like a great idea!

    1. I love my reading journal! It's such a great way to jot down thoughts and quotes. It definitely helps me write my reviews. I also think it helps to put myself on a schedule. I try to do reviews every Monday and Thursday. That way if I forgot to write the review it forces me to sit down and write it.
