Feature and Follow Friday: Owning Multiple Books

A weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read & Parajunkee's View

How it Works:

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you visit the blogs of our illustrious hosts and leave your name on the post using using the linky tools, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

This Week's Question:

Do you own any doubles of your books? What led to getting the second...or third or forth... copy? - Suggested by Jessica at A Great Reader

This Week's Answer:

Partially shelfie with some doubles
I don't really have many dublicates of tbooks that I own. I have a book buying problem but I don't really ever buy a second book if I already have a copy of the book. If I do happen to get a second copy of a book it's probably because I have an e-ARC or e-book and I really liked the book or the cover. Like I have an e-Book and hardcover of The Darkest Minds, Shadow and Bone, and The Kiss of Deception. I also have a couple audiobook versions of books I also have physical copies of like Exquisite Captive, The Hero of Ages, and Steelheart. I also have two copies of Little Women, one was recently gifted by my OTSP Secret Sister and is a gorgeous Puffin in Bloom edition. And I have two copies of Ruin and Rising but that's because one has a signed bookplate that I got for being in the Grisha Street Team and the other is the B&N Special Edition with the Darkling short story. But I don't have many duplicates because if I do get a second copy of a book I usually try to give it away either on the blog or as a gift to a friend.

Half my HP collection
The only exception to my not buying multiple books thing is my Harry Potter collection, but it's Harry Potter. I have the first edition hardcovers that are at my parents' house and then in college I bought the paperbacks from Sorcerer's Stone through Order of the Phoenix. I also have a Canadian version of Order of the Phoenix, and an Italian version of Half Blood Prince (I was studying abroad when it came out there and thought translating would be helpful to learning the language, it wasn't). So for those keeping track. I have 2 versions of every Harry Potter books besides The Deathly Hallows, and 3 copies of Order of the Phoenix.

And what about you? What books do you have multiples of? Leave me a comment of your thoughts.

And remember this is a blog hop so take a look around and if you like what you see give me a follow and leave me a comment so I can follow back. I am indifferent to the manner in which you follow so pick your poison: GFC, Bloglovin, and/or Twitter.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a Great Sparkle Season! Happy FF and HAPPY READING!

  1. I love your Harry Potter collection! I wasn't allowed to read them when I lived at home so I only first read them a few years ago. I bought some ratty first editions on Craigslist so I'm really dying to get the new ones! I definitely want the UK editions that have been floating around lately too! Great collection :)

  2. Your HP collection is gorgeous, I'm definitely wanting to get my hands on a full set of the British version of them and maybe the new paperback collection series that was released as well. :)

Happy Reading and Hopping Through! :)

  3. You can never have too many HP books. Mariibel commented on my post mentioning Kincső Nagy's covers, you need to check them out, they are amazing: THEY GLOW IN THE DARK.

  5. OOoh very nice! I found I have a lot of multiple copies. Not so much as owning the exact same book twice, but different editions of them! The same book but with a different cover art for the most part!

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT day!

  6. The only books I have multiple copies of are all by V.C. Andrews. I was obsessed with all her novels when I was a teenager. Since they had already been around for years they were cheap and easy to get.
