December Wrap Up and January TBR

Read in December: Contemporary?

Well the trend of slow reading months continues. I have not been reading much lately and december was another one of those months. I was really busy and didn't have a lot of time to read and I thought the holidays would be an opportunity for some catch up but it didn't quite mean work out that way. So this month I read 9 new books and no rereads which brings things to a total of 8 books and one comics this month, so I guess that brings me 9 for the month. I thought last month was my low for the year but nope, this was. But I'm okay with it.

For challenges, I had a really good year. I don't think I'm going to meet my reach goals for many of the individual challenges but I'm still met all my initial goals. I have completed my Goodreads goal of reading 150 books for the year last month. I wanted to get to 160 for the year but I didn't quite get there. I'm also met my secondary goal for the Debut Author Challenge of 30 debuts,  having read two this month which brings my total to 31 for the year. For the Netgalley/Edelweiss Challenge, it was a slow month for that, having only read 1 books for that challenge. I didn't reach my goal of 50 for the year, I did read 40 though which is still pretty good. For the Rock My TBR Challenge I read 3 book for that this month getting a total of 26 which mean I met my goal of 25 for the year. And finally, the Audiobook Challenge. I listened to 1 audiobooks this month, giving me a total of 39 for the year which is behind my goal of 50 but still really good.

To Be Read in January: High Fantasy

Something about winter just makes me want to escape into a totally made up world of fantasy and out of the cold and desolate weather. But that I mean I read high fantasy every winter. And looking at the books I plan to read this January, that seems to hold up. So here are the high fantasy books I plan to read this month.

  1. December was a slow month for me, too. The holidays really messed up my reading schedule. Happy New Year!

  2. November and December were both bad reading months for me. Between being sick, the holidays, and family birthdays, I feel like I barely read at all. I think you did great! And your January TBR sounds like fun. I really want to read Caraval and Ever the Hunted. And I am looking forward to reading Windwitch (my preorder arrived). I hope you enjoy your January reads!
